Snow and ice
When snow and icy weather is forecast Synergy Housing tries to ensure that all grit bins are well stocked and that there is adequate access to all sheltered scheme entrances. However schemes will only be gritted where access can be gained safely by staff or contractors, therefore we can never guarantee that we will be able to grit a site.
Work during the summer
During the summer and autumn our Estate Services Team will ensure that there is a grit bin, or somewhere to store grit in every sheltered scheme. Our Care & Support staff will check the grit bins are full and useable and will contact our Estate Services Team if this is not the case.
Severe snow and prolonged bad weather
Grit will not be put down during periods of heavy snow fall as there is little advantage of doing so. Once snow has stopped our Estate Services Team will arrange for snow clearance and / or gritting for priority areas. The work will be carried out by our Environment Team and Grounds Maintenance contractors.
